The Glenorchy Open, the much-loved annual exhibition that showcases an eclectic collection of artworks produced by artists living or working in the City of Glenorchy, opens 6pm today.

The Glenorchy Open is an opportunity for local artists and makers to share their skills with a broad audience. Works of all media are invited, from individual artists or collaborative works. Now in its eighth year, this is the first time The Glenorchy Open will be held in the new Moonah Arts Centre’s outstanding purpose-built exhibition space.

This year the MAC team received a record 61 entries, testimony to the abundance of artistic talent within the greater Glenorchy community. These local artists contribute to the cultural vibrancy of their city and make Glenorchy an interesting and inspiring place to live and work.

Artworks on display include textiles, prints, photography, sculpture, painting, performance art and drawing produced by established to emerging artists that range from 11 years old to well above 80.

Everyone is invited to join us for the exhibition opening event. The Glenorchy Open will be exhibited at the Moonah Arts Centre from 11 February to 12 March 2016 and is free to enjoy.
