Mr Green’s latest claims on energy are just plain wrong and smack of political desperation.

Tasmanians will never forget and never forgive the fact that under Labor, power prices went up 65 per cent.

Since the Liberals were elected, power prices have reduced by over five per cent.

In his usual flurry of red-faced hypocrisy and hyperbole Mr Green forgot that he opposed retail contestability and had to be dragged kicking and screaming all the way. When he did finally admit he got it wrong, he completely botched the Aurora sale, wasted millions of dollars in the process and put any potential for retail contestability back years.

The Hodgman Liberal Government is committed to retail contestability and doing what’s right for the Tasmanian community and we’re not going to be lectured to by a man who did his best to drive the energy sector into the ground, who clearly doesn’t understand the area and who doesn’t even have an energy policy.
