Bryan Green has finally been forced to admit today that Tasmania’s forest industry is in better shape under the Hodgman Liberal Government than it was under Labor and the Greens.

For all Mr Green’s false outrage, when he was challenged today by Leon Compton as to ‘whether Forestry Tasmania or forestry is better now, in a better situation, than it was three years ago”, he answered “yes”.

This gives the lie to Mr Green’s carping criticism and confirms that our efforts to rebuild the industry are working after years of mismanagement by the previous Labor-Green Government.

Confidence is returning and investment, jobs, production and exports are all heading up. It’s a far cry from the lock-ups, closures and thousands of job losses under Mr Green and the Greens.

Here’s a transcript of Mr Green’s comments for clarity:

COMPTON: Is there any doubt that Forestry Tasmania or forestry in Tasmania is better now, in a better situation, than it was three years ago?

GREEN: Yes, well, because.., it is because it’s market-focussed now, Leon.
