Singer/songwriter Jess Cerro, alias ‘Montaigne’ has never been to Tasmania but tells me when we chat that she would ‘really like to go’.
Jess takes the name Montaigne for the philosopher who she admires as one, who through his thoughts and writings shows us how to strive to be a good or better person.
This modern day Montaigne, or Jess, says she is ‘a bit of a jack of all trades’ and ‘good at many things’ including the language of her philosopher-idol who was French.
Montaigne and her music are also good for soothing the soul, including crying babies as she found recently from a friend who said Montaigne’s music helped soothe and cope with her newborn baby!
Montaigne’s new single ‘Clip My Wings’ is out now and Montaigne has just completed a national tour.
