Priority number one for the Hodgman Liberal Government is jobs.

Figures release by the Australian Bureau of Statistics today show that our commitment to job creation is having a positive impact.

At 6.2 per cent Tasmania now has the third lowest unemployment rate of all the States, edging ahead of Queensland and Western Australia according to the latest data.

Full time jobs are up by 600 for the month and overall employment has increased by 200 jobs.

These are encouraging signs and we are committed to keeping this trend going, that’s why we are investing $315 million in a jobs package and $1.8 billion in an infrastructure package.
