The AvantiPlus Hellfire Cup is a 4 day mountain bike stage race held in Kellevie, South East Tasmania.
Fantastic weather greeted competitors for Day 2 of racing at Kellevie.
The field lined up for a tough day of racing over 50km and over 1400m of vertical climbing over adventure trails into Wielangta forest and surrounds.
In the elite men category, Tasman’s Fault (Tasman Nankervis and Chris Hamilton racing for Team Torq) won the day with a blistering time of 2h 02m 55s
The elite women’s team Canyon / Rocky Mountain (Jenni King and Karen Hill) came across the line in 2h 32m 03s
For the elite mixed category team Swiss-Kiwi (Renata Bucher and Olly Shaw) took out line honours with a time of 2h 18m 26s.

The race which is held on a mixture of private land in Kellevie and into the Wielangta State Forest and forestry showcases the South East of Tasmania, and riders experience a mixture of bushland, rainforest and scenic coastal riding. The racing format has a focus on pairs racing – this allows racers to support each other through the tough course and provides company in what can often be, a solitary racing experience.
