The Hodgman Liberal Government is a strong supporter of our cultural industries and the jobs and investment they create.
Today I announced the 2015-16 funding for museums, art galleries and heritage organisations across the state, totalling $443,650.
This funding will support a range of important Tasmanian institutions for projects and exhibitions over the current financial year.
Cultural Heritage Program applications for projects in 2016-17 are now open, and will be assessed on the basis of best practice performance and sustainability.
The Cultural Heritage Program will support museums, galleries and other collections to deliver a range of high quality activities that strengthen Tasmania’s robust, diverse and vibrant cultural heritage sector, engage and inspire audiences and the wider community, and preserve Tasmania’s unique moveable cultural heritage.
Assessment of applications will be undertaken by a specialist cultural heritage panel of the Tasmanian Arts Advisory Board.
The closing date for applications is Monday 2 November 2015. Arts Tasmania program officers are available to provide assistance in the application process and to discuss project ideas. Face-to-face meetings will be available on request in Burnie, Launceston and Hobart.
The Cultural Heritage guidelines are available on the Arts Tasmania website at www.arts.tas.gov.au/culturalheritage.
