Two of Tasmania’s most original guitarists, Paul Gerard, above left, and Alan Gogoll have united to create The Surrealists.
This upcoming concert at the awrd winning Moonah Arts Centre will launch their first CD recorded live in Hobart earlier this year.
The Surrealists are Paul Gerard and Alan Gogoll.
Paul Gerard has spent 35 years mastering the demanding art of Spanish and flamenco guitar music. Paul has played concerts extensively throughout Tasmanian and Australia as well as England and Europe.
Alan Gogoll is part of a new breed of acoustic guitarists, with a uniquely expressive harmonic finger style utilizing alternate tunings, combined with a visually and musically exciting percussive fret board tapping. Alan has been a professional musician for the past 10 years and is in high demand around Tasmania for his beautiful solo playing.
The Surrealists performance is about unique expression taking audiences on a journey using Flamenco guitar, steel string guitar, the harp guitar, the fretless flamenco guitar and the Spanish Cajun. The Surrealists relish the possibilities of change and spontaneity.
Join them at Moonah Arts Centre for the landmark launch of their debut CD, in the acoustically refined environment of the Centre’s Performance Studio.
