TWILIGHT TOUR WITH DR ELLIE RAY
Exhibition: True Self: David Rosetzky Selected Works
When: Thursday 9 July, 5.30 pm
Cost: gold coin
Join Devonport Regional Gallery’s Director, Dr Ellie Ray, in a twilight tour of the national touring exhibition True Self featuring works by one of Australia’s finest video artists, David Rosetzky.
Australian artist David Rosetzky creates intensely beautiful lens-based works exploring identity, subjectivity and relationships. True Self is a comprehensive survey of Rosetzky’s work from 1998 to 2013.
The Twilight Tour provides an opportunity for viewers to delve deeper into the works of this popular touring show, and provides an opportunity for people to discover more about contemporary video and photography.
Lured by high production values and beautiful subjects, the viewer becomes ensnared in Rosetzky’s stiflingly stylish worlds. True Self presents early portrait and longer duration videos, photographs, photo-collages and sculptures, revealing telling relationships between these aspects of his practice.
True Self: David Rosetzky Selected Works is a Centre for Contemporary Photography (CCP) and NETS Victoria touring exhibition curated by Naomi Cass, Director and Kyla McFarlane, Associate Curator, CCP, Melbourne.
