Tasmanian Labor welcomes RET Legislation
Tasmanian Labor has welcomed Legislation on the Renewable Energy Target (RET) passing the Federal Parliament.
We now look forward to projects like the proposed $200 million wind farm at Granville Harbour on the West Coast going ahead.
This will further enhance Tasmania’s reputation as a renewable energy power house in Australia.
We also welcome the opportunities for smart bioenergy projects that use genuine wood waste.
State Labor’s clear policy is to support the use of forest residues which is why we have committed $7 million to set up a biofuels innovation fund to encourage investment in proposals that utilise waste from sustainable sources.
