Reissued: Budget Estimates and Forestry Tasmania
Every year there are two sets of Estimates – Budget Estimates, which scrutinises the budget, and GBE Estimates, which scrutinise the operations of our Government Business Enterprises.
While I am more than happy to answer questions about our policy as it relates to Forestry Tasmania, detailed questions about Forestry Tasmania’s operations are best answered by key Forestry Tasmania staff who will be on hand in GBE Estimates later this year.
While I can understand the frustrations of some Members of Parliament about this, this is the way that Estimates has operated for as long as I can remember, for the good reasons outlined above.
