Hard work about to pay off for the Tasmanian Red Meat Industry
All roads will lead to Longford on Monday for the launch of the Tasmanian Red Meat Industry (TRMI) Strategic Plan.
TRMI Council Chairman Brett Hall said that the hard work was about to pay off for the industry supply chain partners who assisted with the development of the draft over the past year, with a luncheon to celebrate the launch of the plan.
“The unique feature of this plan is that all the industry stakeholders have contributed and agreed with the content. By working together and taking a holistic approach, a blueprint for our future has been created,” Mr Hall said.
The TRMI Strategic Plan has three key themes:
securing the industry’s production base;
improving market access; and
information and communication.
The plan encompasses both the domestic and export meat markets and includes the sheep, cattle and goat sectors of the Tasmanian livestock industry.
“We have invited a cross section of industry stakeholders to the launch that will feature a butchery and cooking demonstration. This will be followed by a lunch that will offer a dining experience that is reflective of Tasmania’s reputation for producing some of the best red meat in the world,’’ Mr Hall said.
The Chairman of the Red Meat Advisory Council, Ross Keane, will be the keynote speaker at the launch of the TRMI Strategic Plan. The Red Meat Advisory Council Ltd is the peak body representing the collective interests of Australia’s red meat and livestock industry.
