The Hodgman Liberal Government is a passionate supporter of small business to grow the economy and create more jobs for Tasmanians.
We have introduced a Buy Local Campaign, a Local Benefits Tests and a Small Business Jobs Package to help support this vital sector which sees 36,000 small businesses employing about 105,000 Tasmanians.
Next week the Tasmanian Government will support a series of Small Business Mentoring and Support Seminars throughout the state in conjunction with the Tasmanian Small Business Council.
These 2-hour seminars will provide advice on improving productivity, saving electricity and business mentoring though to applying for Government tenders and an overview of Government help and plans to incentivise small business.
I urge as many small business owners as possible to attend these interactive information sessions and use the opportunity to talk to experts in different areas and access staff from the Department of State Growth.
We announced significant upcoming infrastructure projects in the State Budget and there are plenty of opportunities here for small businesses.
Small business is vital to the growth and prosperity of the Tasmanian economy and it has the full support of the Hodgman Liberal Government.
The seminars will be held in Hobart (7.30am on Monday June 29), Swansea (5.30pm on June 29), Launceston (5.30pm Tuesday June 30), Devonport (7.30am Wednesday July1), Burnie (5.30pm July 1) and Smithton (5.30pm Thursday July 2).
