The Hodgman Government has been embarrassingly slapped down by Federal Environment Minister Greg Hunt over its plans for Tasmania’s Wilderness World Heritage Area.

“Greg Hunt and Tony Abbott have backed environmentalists over their own colleagues and have left Will Hodgman and Matthew Groom hanging out to dry,” Labor Leader Bryan Green said.

“This is very embarrassing for the Hodgman Government.

“The State Liberals have been so arrogant about their plans for the World Heritage Area and now they’ve been rejected by their own colleagues.

“It’s another example of the Liberals’ incapacity to negotiate.

“It shows that the two governments are failing to work together.”
