365 Day Plan: First Quarter Update
The Tasmanian Liberal Government has a long-term Plan for Tasmania and we are committed to providing regular updates on our progress on delivering it.
The First Quarter Update released today shows we have delivered in full 29 of the 31 initiatives listed for delivery in the first quarter of our second year in Government, the remaining two are almost complete.
We are delivering on our plan to fix the budget mess, to ensure we can afford the services Tasmanians deserve into the future. Already in our second year we have strengthened our friendship with China through the China Engagement Strategy, proceeded to Stage Two of the Expressions of Interest for investment in our National Parks and World Heritage Area and launched Australia’s first Beer Tourism Plan.
We are reforming our health system through the White Paper, we have rescued the Royal Hobart Hospital redevelopment with a new hospital to be completed in late 2018 and released a review into Mental Health Services to improve outcomes.
In education, we have announced a second round of regional high schools to extend to Years 11 and 12, introduced a new approach to career education through My Education and established the Peter Underwood Centre for Educational Attainment with the University of Tasmania.
We have also released draft Statewide Planning Scheme legislation, began work to reset our relationship with the Tasmanian Aboriginal community and released the Women on Boards Strategy 2015-2020.
The Government will continue to work hard to keep Tasmania heading in the right direction so we can provide a brighter future for Tasmanians.
