Budget 2015-16
After the trauma inflicted upon our school communities through the previous cuts to education we are pleased there are no new cuts to endure.
We are pleased to see recognition of the value of parental engagement though the LIFT program and look forward to working with the Department on input to this program.
This will build on the LILS Program to provide a strong education foundation for students and families.
Infrastructure upgrades are well overdue for high schools and very welcome.
We look forward to seeing how the extra $1m for students with disability will roll out in schools on the ground.
‘We welcome the funding for students with disability and await the outcome of the current review, the infrastructure work for special schools has been something that has been worked towards for some time – it is good to see it progressed, we are of course happy to see funding attached to parent engagement and addressing equality in schools. While yet to see the modelling it is a very positive initiative.’ said .
