Kim Booth – TWS tribute on retirement
The Wilderness Society today paid tribute to retiring state Greens leader and MP Kim Booth and acknowledged his tireless contribution to environmental protection, transparency in governance, community representation and new future for Tasmania.
“Kim has been a dogged advocate and effective political representative and helped deliver a range of great outcomes for Tasmania’s environment, its governance and its people,” said Vica Bayley, spokesperson for the Wilderness Society.
“Kim’s experience crosses so many arenas and it has led him into advocacy for a diverse field of interests.
“From forest protection campaigner, to logging contractor advocate, to pulp mill process investigator, Kim represented people and the planet and did it with laid back, but passionate and informed air.
“Kim’s advocacy and parliamentary performances will be hard to match and the people of Bass and the Tamar Valley will miss his grass roots engagement, investigative prowess and dry, but sharply barbed one-liners.”
