The Hodgman Liberal Government has been strongly lobbying the ACCC to investigate local fuel prices. We welcome the announcement that the ACCC will now formally investigate fuel prices in Launceston.

Tasmania’s higher fuel prices are bad for the family budget and hurt businesses. There’s no doubt that lower fuel prices would benefit the economy and help create jobs.

Fuel prices in Launceston are among the highest in the nation and are indicative of fuel prices around the State.

We’re confident that this investigation will get to the bottom of what’s really going on and we look forward to it getting underway.
