Getting business Digital Ready
The launch of a new Digital Ready for Business microsite today will help Tasmanian businesses create jobs and grow the economy.
The state is now heading in the right direction and we want to keep building on the momentum.
Jobs are the Hodgman Liberal Government’s number one priority, and that’s why I was very pleased to help launch the new microsite and also announce the appointment of four regional coaches for the program.
The Digital Ready Program helps small businesses to better understand how to operate and thrive in the rapidly changing online business environment.
In last year’s State Budget we committed $800,000 over four years to deliver an enhanced and refocussed Digital Ready program to target Tasmanian retail and other businesses that want to understand or find out more about operating online.
The program is a great opportunity for Tasmanian small business owners and retailers to learn about the many advantages of participating in the digital economy and make some positive changes to the way they do business.
The new microsite at www.digitalready.tas.gov.au gives businesses access to a comprehensive toolkit of fact sheets, video content and program presentations.
The appointment of four expert coaches to deliver the Digital Ready program in each of the regions is another important step to ensure businesses have the tools and the local support they need to capitalise on the digital economy. The coaches are:
• Rebecca King of KingThing (Northern Tasmania)
• Benjamin Jones of Eaglecrest Technologies (North-West Tasmania)
• Nicola Watson of S. Group (Southern Tasmania)
• Adam Mostogl of Illuminate Consulting (West Coast)
Each of the coaches brings specialised digital business skills and expertise to assist small business participants make the most of operating online.
The 2015 Digital Ready for Business Program commenced on 11 May, with a total of 80 coaching group workshops and public seminars scheduled until November 2015.
Businesses can register via the Business Tasmania website www.business.tas.gov.au
