On 17 April I will update the community on the key themes of the upcoming budget and broadly outline the Government’s economic policy agenda for 2015-16.
I will also discuss Tasmania’s economic outlook and the forecasts that will shape the coming budget.
Retail trade is at record highs, building approvals are strong, visitor numbers are soaring and business confidence is the highest in the nation. Importantly, our unemployment rate has fallen and we have near record numbers of Tasmanians back in work.
There is no doubt the Government’s policy decisions are making an impact and this is an opportunity to outline the Government’s plan for the economy and the budget.
I look forward to discussing the Government’s plan to maintain the economic momentum that the Government built up in its first year in office.
