Convict City jammer #4 Slamtelle rams through a wall of Deathstars
THE CONVICTS PLAY VICTORIAN RIVALS NORTHSIDE
In a rematch set to light the stadium on fire, the Convicts play the Northside Deathstars this Saturday night after a nail-biting 7 point loss to the team from Melbourne last November.
The 2014 Bendigo Rebellion tournament saw the two teams, both ranked within the Australian Top 20, play each other, with Northside running away with the win in the final jam.
The Convicts have since played at the elite NSW derby tournament the Bont Invitational in January, skating against international teams and beating their old rival Newcastle in their home town.
Fans can expect a tight headlining game this Saturday night, followed by two home team (B team) games on Sunday morning at Aurora Sports Stadium in New Town.
The Convicts have recently wrapped up their first Introduction to Roller Derby intake for 2015, with the next group starting on 6 May.
This year will see the Convicts travel interstate to increase their national ranking plus a new state-wide home team tournament.
