Liberals pressuring Tasmania to sell State-owned assets
Labor Leader Bryan Green today called on Federal Liberal MPs to stop heavying the State Government to sell Tasmania’s energy assets.
“It is clear the Liberal Coalition is increasing pressure on Tasmania to privatise public assets,” Mr Green said.
“Eric Hutchinson and Andrew Nikolic are doing the dirty work for Joe Hockey by publicly advocating a sell off of Tasmanian-owned assets.
“Just because the Liberals they got away with leasing the poles and wires in New South Wales doesn’t mean it should happen here.
“Cleary the message is not getting through to Canberra that Tasmanians won’t stand for this kind of intimidation.
“It’s time Will Hodgman called the self-styled amigos in and banged their heads together.
“At the very least Mr Hodgman should publicly denounce the comments of his Federal Liberal colleagues.
“Tasmania must not be bullied by Canberra into selling assets and Mr Hutchinson and Mr Nikolic need to understand that.”
