Lambie writes to Victorian Premier and asks for secret report …

… that looks at links between organized crime and the building industry

Independent Senator for Tasmania, Jacqui Lambie has written to the Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews (see attached) and asked him to release a secret report written by Nigel Hadgkiss, a former Construction Code Compliance Chief.

“I understand the report, which examines links between organized crime and the building industry in Victoria is now allegedly Cabinet in Confidence after a former government and cabinet made it part of their official deliberations.” said Senator Lambie

“If Mr Hadgkiss’s report provides important details about the links between organized crime and the Building and Construction Industry, I don’t care about any Cabinet in Confidence provisions. Mr Andrews should make that document available in the public interest.” said Senator Lambie

“I need to see the contents of that document so that I can make an informed vote when it comes time to consider the future of the ABCC (Australian Building and Construction Commission).” said Senator Lambie.
