EXIT LAUNCHES NEW INITIATIVE IN HOBART

Posted on

Exit International is Australia’s leading Right to Die organisation founded by Dr.Philip Nitschke.

Exit choses Hobart to launch its new EXIT VIVA seminar series on Thursday 23 April.

Entitled Let’s Talk About Death and Dying the EXIT VIVA seminars are presented by Exit’s National Coordinator (Australia/New Zealand) Dr Johannes Klabbers, who has extensive experience and expertise as a secular pastoral worker, educator and therapist.

EXIT VIVA seminars are designed to break though the taboo on death and dying in an entertaining and informative way which will be challenging and rewarding for both Exit members and their families.

“We chose Hobart, as it is the capital city of the state which just missed out on having Voluntary Euthanasia legally available for the first time since the mid nineties when the Federal Government overturned the legislation in the Northern Territory which enabled four terminally ill people to die peacefully at a time of their own choosing.” Dr.Klabbers said from Melbourne.

“Dr.Nitschke and I were both in Hobart to watch the debate in the Lower House and the vote which was lost by the narrowest possible margin.”

“The idea of EXIT VIVA is to create a collective conversation about death and dying,” Dr.Klabbers added. “I will outline the advantages of being prepared for the dying process, as well providing helpful strategies for talking openly with friends and family about something which will happen to all of us sooner or later.”

EXIT VIVA is an ideal way to start ‘that’ conversation with your friend, spouse or partner, son or daughter – the conversation you’ve been meaning to have for years.

EXIT’s VIVA seminar programme commences in Tasmania (Hobart) in April and travels to Victoria (May) and Queensland (Brisbane, Bundaberg and Maroochydore) in June with other Australian & New Zealand cities to follow.
