What…. ANZAC Flag Parade to commemorate a century of ANZAC.

Who…. The Independent Member for Denison, Andrew Wilkie, Glenorchy Mayor Kristie Johnston. local school children, Claremont RSL, Claremont College, Sailors and officers of the HMAS Canberra and the Claremont, Austins Ferry and Granton Precinct.

Where…. At the Windermere Bay Foreshore off Cadbury Road Claremont.

When…. Thursday, 23rd of April, March starting at 9.30.

The march will conclude at the Claremont RSL War Memorial with a short service by the Vice President of the RSL Andrew Dixon. The Mayor of Glenorchy will officiate at the event and present the school children with a poppy each to commemorate 100 years of ANZAC. At least 10 flags will be carried by the children, some current and some historical such as an old Australian and Tasmanian flag. A pipe band and drummers will lead the students who are from Claremont College, Windermere, Holy Rosary and Austins Ferry Primary. A bugler will call the last post to close the ceremony. We understand that this flag parade is the only one taking place in Southern Tasmania.
