• Sawlog prices were generally lower throughout the world in the 4Q as compared to earlier in the year.
• Wood fiber costs for pulp mills fell slightly in many countries in the 4Q.
• The world market prices for NBSK pulp have remained practically unchanged.
• Global trade of softwood lumber has continued to trend upward.
• Lumber consumption in the US increased over six percent in 2014.
• Prices for lumber declined in Finland and Sweden.
• Chinese demand for lumber weakened during the second half of 2014,
• Pellet exports from North America rose marginally to Europe; the increase to Asia was more noticeable.
