SBS Censors Marriage Ad during Mardi Gras
Australia’s taxpayer-funded broadcaster, SBS, has been accused of “blatant political censorship” over its broadcast, tonight, of the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade.
An advertisement critical of same-sex marriage was booked and scheduled for broadcast during the Mardi Gras telecast, but was pulled by SBS management on Friday 6th March with no reason given.
The same ad was broadcast on Channels 7 and 9 in Sydney last night, 7th March, as the Mardi Gras Parade was getting under way. Here is the ad:
