Independent Senator for Tasmania Jacqui Lambie has congratulated the ABC 4 Corners program for producing a show, which features former Commando Geoff Evans who was wounded during his war service in Afghanistan – and has urged all Australians to watch the program on the ABC tonight.
“Geoff Evans is to be congratulated and commended. He has always been a strong, courageous advocate for young Veterans. Geoff flew to Tasmania soon after I was elected and met with me. I produced a YouTube video of our meeting and subsequent conversation which has clearly inspired tonight’s 4 Corners Report.” said Senator Lambie.
“Some people have questioned why I’ve fought so hard for Veterans and serving members of ADF. After tonight, when people discover the true extent of the government dysfunction and the injustice Veterans and their families have been forced to endure for decades – perhaps the government will be shamed into acting and properly addressing serious issues like, Veterans Suicides and Homelessness.” said Senator Lambie.
