Valentine’s Day Plea for Marriage Equality
Valentine’s Day is for all lovers, regardless of gender or sexual identity, but shamefully the same cannot be said for marriage laws in Australia.
“Valentine’s Day is all about love, and so is marriage equality. It’s the perfect time to reflect on the need for all Australians to be treated equally under the law, including the Marriage Act,” said Tasmanian Greens Justice spokesperson Nick McKim MP.
“Marriage equality would ideally be delivered at the national level through the Commonwealth parliament, but Tasmania should be prepared to go it alone if necessary.”
“We wish all lovers a happy Valentine’s Day, regardless of their gender or sexual identity.”
