Tasmanian Health Service – Governing Council recruitment
The Tasmanian Government is calling for expressions of interest for the Governing Council for the new Tasmanian Health Service.
From 1 July 2015 the three existing Tasmanian Health Organisations will merge to become a single Tasmanian Health Service (THS), providing a statewide focus on patients’ health needs and internal savings up to an estimated $21 million.
The new Governing Council will replace the existing governing councils of the three THOs.
Members of the Governing Council will play an important role in oversight and implementation of the health reforms, with a coordinated focus on providing better health outcomes for all Tasmanians.
The THS Governing Council will be accountable for governance and oversight of hospital and health services and the achievement of performance standards.
Expressions of interest from suitably qualified individuals should be lodged by Monday 16 March 2015.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate experience in corporate governance, business or financial management, health management or administration, or clinical expertise, and have an understanding of contemporary Tasmanian health issues. Regional representation will also be an important consideration.
