Today’s figures from the ABS show retail trade continues to grow under the Liberal Government.

Retail trade has grown every month since the March election and is at a record high, with turnover totalling $466.2 million for September 2014.

This builds on the growing confidence in the Tasmania economy since the election.

Last month’s NAB Monthly Business Survey revealed that business confidence is now by far the highest in the country and twice the rate of confidence of the next highest state.

The Liberal Government is committed to our long-term plan of creating jobs and growing the economy.

Our plan includes payroll tax rebates and incentives for small businesses to create new jobs, fixing the planning system and opening up national parks for sensible tourism investment to drive development.

There is much to do, but we are getting on with the job of making Tasmania the place to live, work and invest.
