Today is International Volunteer Manager’s Day.
Volunteering Tasmania held events around the state, to recognise the importance of managers of volunteers.
The Volunteering Tasmania High Tea, held in the Premier’s Reception Room, welcomed around 30 attendees, including the Premier himself.
In the North West, Volunteering Tasmania hosted a Health and Wellness session, with a pamper station and a special guest speaker from WorkSafe Tasmania.
In Launceston, managers of volunteers were treated to a morning tea at the stunning Franklin House.
It is important to note that successful and thriving volunteering programs don’t just happen in a vacuum. They are the result of collaboration, planning, innovation, strategic thinking, implementation and inspiring leadership.
International Volunteer Manager’s Day recognises the people that create an environment where volunteering can flourish.
Today Volunteering Tasmania would like to thank the individuals who enable volunteering.

International Volunteer Managers Day
Today I was honoured to celebrate International Volunteer Managers Day with Volunteering Tasmania and members of the volunteering community.
Many in the community recognise the valuable contribution made by volunteers across Tasmania in areas including sports, emergency services, social outreach and faith communities.
However, volunteering does not occur in a vacuum, which is why International Volunteer Managers Day is celebrated every year on November 5.
The volunteering spirit is enabled and grown by volunteer managers across Tasmania. Days like IVMD provide the community with an opportunity to acknowledge the hard work and professionalism of our volunteer managers and say thank you.
IVMD also provides an opportunity to educate others about the valuable role played by volunteer managers, which is why IVMD carries the motto”Education through Celebration”.
The Liberal Government recognises and supports the valuable role played by volunteers and volunteer managers in our community.
