With Treasurer Peter Gutwein arrogantly rejecting a pay freeze offer from unions, it’s time he let Tasmanians in on his plan for the public service.

This week in Parliament, the Treasurer must explain which jobs will go, which services we can do without and which supplies and consumables he considers waste.

Labor Leader Bryan Green says we are already a third of the way through the financial year.

“Four months have passed and the Treasurer has provided very little in the way of budget detail,” Mr Green said.

“Which jobs are getting the Peter Gutwein chop to pay for the Liberals’ extravagant election spending?

“If the Treasurer doesn’t provide detail in Parliament this week, he’ll be treating Tasmanians with contempt.

“We know the Liberals will cut more than 800 jobs over the next eight months, it’s time they came clean.”
