How hard is it for young people to navigate their way from high school into rewarding paid work?
Some have a plan – to finish year 10 and college and go onto uni or further education, but for many Tasmanians the pathway isn’t so smooth. How do you work out what you want to do when you leave school? How do you get there? What happens when you can’t or don’t want to stay in school?
Join Louise on 936 ABC Drive next Tuesday October 14 between 4 and 5 for a Community Conversation when we will look at ways to stop our students falling through the cracks as they navigate their way through high school.
We’ll chat about these issues and hear from some Tasmanians who are currently in the system, and others who left early but have successfully found rewarding and challenging jobs.
