Members of the Neill-Fraser Support Group Inc. are delighted that the Attorney General has announced changes which will allow for review of criminal cases with fresh evidence or evidence of a tainted conviction.

Support Group Chair, Fiona Peate says the Group have argued for change to enable a review of the Neill-Fraser case.

Mrs Peate says:

“This is an opportunity for Tasmania to take the best parts of the South Australian legislation and create new Tasmanian legislation to be the bench mark for the rest of Australia to follow. The Support Group would like the Neill-Fraser case to be the test-case for the new legislation”.

Mrs Peate adds that while the proposed legislation changes are most welcome, it will take time to be implemented. We are very concerned that Sue is unwell and remains in prison.
