… ahead of Community Cup curtain-raiser

Ahead of tomorrow’s sold out clash between North Melbourne and Adelaide at Blundstone Arena,
students from New Town High are being treated to some last minute advice from Kangaroos player
Cameron Delaney as part of the RACT Insurance Community Cup, the curtain-raiser to the big game.

RACT Insurance CEO Trent Sayers said the Community Cup program, now in its third year, focused on
everyday Tasmanians experiencing the excitement and atmosphere of playing first-class football,
with this years’ match being played as the curtain-raiser before AFL game on Saturday.

“Since 2012 we have seen the RACT Insurance Community Cup evolve, this year focussing on athlete
development within the local community and giving the students from New Town High School a
chance to shine,” Mr Sayers said.

“Adopting an AFL team in Tasmania is more than just economic benefit and first-class footy in the
state, it means our youth get to interact with top-tier players who many regard as key role models.

“RACT Insurance has always been a strong supporter of football in Tasmania and being able to assist
at a grass-roots level with youth development is extremely rewarding.

“The Community Cup has created a great sense of community spirit and we hope all those attending
the game arrive early and support the New Town High boys.”

The 2014 RACT Insurance Community Cup clash showcasing the talent of the New Town High AFL
Athlete Development program will start at 12:15pm Saturday, 23 August at Blundstone Arena, with
the North Melbourne and Adelaide Crows match kicking off at 1.45pm.
