The $12-million expansion of the Jackson Motor Company Volkswagen and Audi Automotive precinct in Hobart is a further demonstration of confidence in Tasmania’s economy.

The expansion of the Tasmanian owned business in Hobart’s CBD will create 20 new jobs, representing more than a 60 per cent boost in the dealership’s workforce.

This is a significant boost for Tasmania’s economy by one of the state’s most highly regarded businessmen, Errol Stewart, who has experienced success across a broad range of industries including property development and tourism.

The Liberal Government is very pleased to see business confidence continue to rise. Just this week the National Australia Bank Business Survey revealed that in the quarter since the State Election Tasmania has made a U-turn and is now leading the nation in business and employment conditions, and current and expected employment.

I congratulate the Jackson Motor Company on this magnificent development, and their long standing contribution to Tasmania’s economy.
