Today’s job figures from the ABS continue to show small but positive signs for the Tasmanian economy.
2,100 jobs have been created since the Liberal Government was elected three months ago, 500 of those in June.
The participation rate has increased by 0.1 per cent to 61 per cent, its highest level in more than three years.
The unemployment rate has remained steady at 7.4 per cent from the previous month, which is still too high.
We know there are challenges facing the economy and there are no silver bullets, but the Liberal Government remains committed to tackling the jobs crisis and bringing our unemployment rate in line with the national average.
