More than 150 claims received from Tasmanians affected by storms

RACT Insurance is urging all policy holders affected by the recent strong winds and
storms in Tasmania to call 13 27 22 to lodge a claim as soon as possible.

RACT Insurance CEO Trent Sayers said the organisation was doing everything it could
to make the process as simple as possible for those affected.

“The sooner customers lodge their claims, the sooner we can go about assessing and
fixing the damage caused by the conditions,” Mr Sayers said.

With more than 150 claims already lodged by RACT Insurance policy holders, Mr Sayers
said he expected this number to rise significantly after persisting strong winds overnight
and once the full extent of the damage had become clear.

“It is still unclear exactly how many homes and properties have been damaged across
the state, but first estimates put the total damage close $350,000,” Mr Sayers said.
“We urge anyone affected to call us as soon as possible.”
