For many people, work is a place that they have to be, not a place of merriment or enjoyment. But, it doesn’t need to be that way. Join Sustainable Living Tasmania in the 3rd instalment of The Art of Happiness Series. On Friday, 1 August, Darryl Peebles of the UTAS School of Business and Economicswill share with us his research on the value of positive humour in the workplace.

“Your well- being has an obvious effect on your productivity, and workplaces that don’t offer a positive, supportive environment, have been shown to sufferincreases inemployee absence or sickness” saidLissa Villeneuve, Program Manager, SLT.

Last year Ernst & Young estimated that workers with low to moderate wellbeing cost their employers $12 billion in lost productivity.

“People want to increase their well-being experience in both their personal and professional lives. At this event you’ll hear about the implications of my research and gain some strategies to increase your well- being at work,”Daryl Peebles said.
