Registrations have opened for the Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association’s biennial conference to be held in Launceston on July 3 and 4, to be addressed by world leaders in advertising and communications.
Taking Responsibility is the conference theme, reflecting the industry’s new Ag2025 strategic plan in which farmers, agribusinesses and associated industries set out their vision through to the year 2025 and take responsibility for achieving that vision.
“There can be little doubt that agriculture has not only been the traditional mainstay of the economy, it represents Tasmania’s long-term future because of our natural climatic and topographical advantages and the infrastructure in place to make the most of those advantages,” president Wayne Johnston said today.
“Our job is not only to manage out businesses but to drive them forward, to enhance them.”
The conference will be held at Country Club Tasmania on Thursday, July 3 and there will be a field day on July 4.
The speakers include:
Craig Davis, adjunct professor at the University of Technology, Sydney and formerly with Saatchi & Saatchi advertising agency and J Walter Thompson in London
Adam Ferrier, global head of Behavioral Science and founding partner of Naked Communications. He is another product of Saatchi & Saatchi and is a regular on ABC TV’s Gruen series
Professor Ian Chubb, Australia’s Chief Scientist, whose role is to provide independent advice to the Prime Minister and other ministers on matters relating to science, technology and innovation
David Trebeck, a distinguished economist, consultant and company director with Incitec Pivot, Pipers Brook vineyard and the Australian Meat and Livestock Corporation.
