The Liberal Government is getting on with the job of delivering on our Plan for jobs and growth which was endorsed by the Tasmanian people at the state election.
We will keep our promises and deliver our Plan for jobs and growth despite having to deal with Labor’s closet full of skeletons on a daily basis.
Skeletons like $1.1 billion in accumulated deficits and 1,000 hidden job cuts they quietly left in the Budget.
That is one of the reasons why we sensibly delayed the State Budget, so we could work through the financial wreck we knew would be left by Labor.
Our task has been made even harder because we’ve now been handballed some of Federal Labor’s mess, which means a $2.1 billion budget hit to Tasmania over 11 years.
The Liberal Government is now arguing vigorously and working cooperatively with the Federal Government to get a better deal for Tasmania.
There will be some tough decisions to be made, but we will not break trust with the Tasmanian people – we will deliver on our commitments.
Meanwhile Labor has failed to come up with even one constructive idea. It is time for them to stop their whinging, realise that their policies were rejected at the last election and accept our mandate.
Labor is either with us and Tasmanians who overwhelmingly voted for change, or still with the Greens.
