This is a picture of a gondola of the Schilthorn cable car in Switzerland holding 75 standing passengers. It is the 3rd section (Mürren-Birg) that comes closest to a Mount Wellington cable car in terms of height differential and steepness.
The Schilthornbahn comprises four sections.
The last section ends on the Schilthorn (aka Piz Gloria, 2970m) with its revolving restaurant:

In a 2005 incident a section of a mantle around the load bearing cables tore away, but the cables proper were not damaged. 53 passengers were rescued safely. The fault was identified as having its origin in 1979.
The company has had a very good 2013 season due to high use during a very hot summer (people fleeing the 40 degree lowland heat) followed by a weak winter (little snow in the lower regions and a lot of windy days).
Total number of passengers 2013: over 4 million. Net profit: CHF 1.5 million (roughly AUD 1.8 mio). This follows 2012, which had concluded with zero profit.
