Community Legal Centres Tasmania, the Law Society of Tasmania and Civil Liberties Australia would like to invite you to a public forum on the Government’s proposed phasing out of suspended sentences on Monday 14th April from 5:00p.m. – 6:00p.m.
The forum is entitled:
Suspended Sentences – Is it time for their abolition or are they an essential sentencing option?
Speakers include the Attorney-General, Vanessa Goodwin, retired Supreme Court Judge Pierre Slicer, Canberra academic Lorana Bartels and Kim Baumeler the Chair of the Law Society’s Criminal Law Committee.
The forum is being held at the Law Society building in Murray St, Hobart but will also be made accessible via videolink to Launceston, Devonport and Burnie.
