The final weekend of Spiegeltent’s spectacular program is upon us, and with some amazing performances
still to come, hailing all the way from Scotland’s highlands is Breabach – a five-piece ensemble who will hit
the Spiegel stage with full vigour on Sunday, 23 March 2014.

Ten Days Executive Director and Producer Marcus Barker said bringing the rolling glens and the craggy
peaks of Scotland to Hobart’s Spiegeltent, Breabach was a thrilling and unique contemporary folk music
band, which had earned international recognition winning the 2012 BBC Alba for Folk Band of the Year.

“Breabach will deliver a thrilling and unique brand of contemporary folk music, which has earned the
group international recognition that continues with the release of their fourth album, Ùrlar. The band will
be performing songs off the new release in their Tasmanian debut performance in the Spiegeltent, kicking
off at 5:30pm on Sunday, 23 March,” Mr Barker said.

“Offering a glimpse of what Tasmanian audiences can expect from Sunday night’s Spiegeltent
performance, Breabach will be at Salamanca Market this Saturday, incorporating the distinct sound of
highland twin bagpipes, fiddle, guitar, bass, flute, bouzouki, and Gaelic and Scots songs to produce a
diverse and captivating performance with some Scottish step dancing from band member Megan.”

Breabach stars Calum MacCrimmon (pipes/whistles/ bouzouki), Ewan Robertson (guitar/vocals), James
Mackenzie (pipes/flute/whistles), Megan Henderson (fiddle/ vocals/step dance) and James Lindsay
(double bass).
