Leader debate comment

Tasmanian Greens Leader Nick McKim said that while Lara Giddings and Will Hodgman participated in today’s ‘Leader’s debate’, the Greens were meeting asylum seekers and recent humanitarian arrivals, and some of the many Tasmanians who are supporting them in our community.

“While Lara and Will were sitting in a room pretending to attack each other while actually agreeing on most things, we kept focussed on our alternative vision for real change in Tasmania.”

“Perhaps they were nervous about debating someone who has a genuinely different vision for Tasmania, rather than the more-of-the-same future that Labor and Liberal are offering.”

“I am happy to participate in a debate any time with either Lara or Will.”

“The fact that neither will debate me says more about them and their parties than it does about me or the Greens.”
