Bass Strait: This ridiculous catfight 4

The moment recommendations are leaked from the Freight Logistics Coordination Team report into a freight strategy for Tasmania the Tasmanian Government and Opposition start another political catfight.

The cost of getting goods across Bass Strait is a significant economic brake on all businesses in Tasmania and is damaging our state.

All the Government wants to do is talk, and all the Opposition wants to do is carp and criticise. The need to score political points has stopped progress in this area for far too long.

Instead of working together for the benefit of Tasmania the State Government and the Opposition are fighting with each other about which plan is less weak.

It is clear that neither the Government nor the Opposition are taking this issue seriously.

All parties in Tasmania should grow up and work together to solve this problem, including by developing a joint submission to the Federal Productivity Commission report into Bass Strait.
