Slow Food Hobart will join the team from Willie Smith’s Organic Cider for a brunch to be held at ‘The Apple Shed Museum’ (Willie Smith’s latest venture), where we will enjoy a beautiful array of the fine produce on offer in the Huon Valley. Michelle Crawford of Willie Smith’s will put together our ‘Grazing Table’ with Asher Gilding of Pantree Produce preparing dessert. Of course there will be plenty of cider to enjoy, also beer, wine and apple juice will be available. We have some great items for our ‘Silent Auction’, which will run whilst we enjoy our food.
We are very lucky to have Kirsha Kaechele from MONA joining us as our guest. Kirsha will talk about their incredibly interesting and innovative project involving artists, scientists and architects – Heavy Metal. A collaboration for the century – The River Derwent Heavy Metals Project. This project has great importance to us all.
The fundraising for this event is focused on our ongoing School Kitchen Garden Grant Program and support for Second Bite. The theme for Terra Madre Day this year is Save an endangered food – eat it, so we’ll be doing just that.
