Internationally renowned community development strategist and storyteller David Hunt will deliver the 2013 Dorothy Pearce Address on Monday 30 September at the Stanley Burbury Theatre, University of Tasmania, Sandy Bay, 5pm-7pm.

David is the founder of the Washington DC-based David Hunt and Associates, an institute dedicated to citizen empowerment and community development. He also founded the Community Building Storytelling Project, designed to reintroduce storytelling into American culture as a tool to build community and heal America and the world. Under his directorship (1988-1995), the Chicago Rehab Network led a broad-based campaign that resulted in the city of Chicago targeting $750 million to low-income housing development. David is a truly fitting speaker to deliver the Dorothy Pearce Address – a public event held annually to honour TasCOSS Honorary Life Member Dorothy Pearce, who died in March this year after a long life of social work and community service.

Cost: $20 ($10 TasCOSS members and concessions), including light food and refreshments. Please register online at RSVP essential by 27 September for catering purposes.
