Moonah Arts Centre’s popular 2013 Friday Night Concert Series continues on Friday October 5 with local world music choir, Sisongke presenting :

FROM EAST TO WEST

Sisongke is a joyous dynamic community choir based in Hobart.

The name “Sisongke” means “together” in Zulu, and reflects the choir’s history and distinct repertoire of World Music, including music from Africa, the Pacific Islands, Aboriginal music, Italian, European Folk Music, etc.

For this concert under the musical direction of Lyndall Edwards, the 25 person strong, Sisongke will be presenting a one hour program of music featuring in particular songs from Asia. The Chinese song ‘Mo Li Hua’, will be accompanied by flute and song choices will also include two traditional songs from Japan.

This concert is a must for anyone interested in choral world music and learning a little bit more about Hobart’s vibrant community choir scene.
